About Max Goldsmith
Max Goldsmith is a mixed media artist based in Los Angeles California. Goldsmith is best known for his application of conceptual images, transforming them by applying abstract patterns and color to re-contextualize them.
Many of the images Goldsmith paints includes portraits and landscapes in a style adapting the influence of two of his favorite artists, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Herring. Rather than participate in rote appropriation, he attempts to subvert it, while paying homage to his artistic influences that celebrate diversity.
His current collections are an exercise in aesthetics, bound together by lines, colors, shapes, and patterns--measured chaos and order. Goldsmith graduated from University of Santa Cruz California with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.
